Delcia's one year old photos

We tried to take some one year old photos of Delce. We went down town, but it was so cold out that we re-evaluated and went to an old indoor mall, Trolley Square. She wasn't terribly cooperative and we are not professionals, but here is what we came up with. We look forward to having some "real" photos taken next week in Florida by Kiera.

Birthday Girl!

Delcia is one! We had a birthday party for her and John last Sat night. It's bad enough having a birthday next to Christmas, now John is overlooked by Delcia's birthday on the 27th! Good thing he is so laid back and low maintenance. We had a lot of fun celebrating both birthday's with some of our fabulous friends and family! It really didn't take long for Delcia to get the hang of opening presents. She was so excited about her great new toys and books!

Let it snow!

One of Johns favorite things is to be in the mountains, especially when there is an inversion. So, we spent another day bundled up by the fire at our friend, Jim Keener's cabin in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Delcia loves the hike in through the snow!

She enjoyed eating all my spaghetti! As little as she is, she loves to eat!

She kept waving at the deer head on the wall, surprised by it's lack of response.

King of the castle! She loved the fur on the rocking chair!

All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth...

Shirt reads, "I've been good all year, (ask mommy)." Sure you have!

Grandma doesn't care! We opened a Christmas/Birthday package from Grandma and Grandpa Erdmann.

Watch out!

Brushing our teeth. Yes my hair looks like that in the morning!

Stayin busy

Full on cowgirl. This girl is full of it, but so cute and so much fun! We love watching her learn and grow. She says, "mama, dadda and no, no, no!" She brings me books to read to her, then climbs in my lap. One of her books says, "4 waddling penguins" and every time I read that part, she waddles back and forth! The other day she found John's puffy vest and said, "dadda" as she dragged it into the kitchen to give to him.

Another walk out in the snow.

Her new fetish is plastic, toy silverware. We have to pry it out of her hands after she falls asleep, so she doesn't hurt herself with it in her bed.

"Let me help you with that hammer, daddy."

Howdy Pardner!

Delcia loves hats!

"Helping" with the dishes

Bucket O' fun. She loves to climb into things.

You can see the rash on her face from her apparent milk allergy. Too bad, because she was sleeping through the night once on whole milk.

Playing around

Delce taking on the challenge of carrying three things at once; her toothbrush, buttpaste and sunblock.
Our challenge is trying to get her to hold still long enough to put clothes on or change her diaper.

Daddy's ski hat. (John already made sure that she likes the snow).

Hiking the foothills on a chili, but sunny day. Picked out our Christmas tree afterward and enjoyed some hot cocoa.

Around the House

Delce goofing around with John and loving it.

Play kitchen from neighbor's yard sale. She loves to pull all the food and dishes out of the cupboards!

Carrying Pooh and Penguin around the house.

Discovering her first Christmas tree.

Ski free

I've been waiting to take advantage of being un-employed. After a decent storm last night we went out this morning to see how conditions were. It was a pretty good first outing, but thin.

Happy Halloween... what, it's November 6th?

Well that's alright. We've been busy here with little Delcia getting over her first full fledged sickness. We think it was the swine flu, but we don't have official test results, or a pig costume. So we were going to dress Delcia up like a duck, we had borrowed costumes A kangaroo and bee too.. but in the end trying them on was a close to the fun as we got. We missed the fun Trunk or Treat carnival at Capital, but I don't think Delcia would have remembered it anyways. So without further ado I present Delcia the Duck... or is she a kangaroo??

Sharing

Delcia was nice enough to let Bridger have a brief taste of his raw hide before taking a taste of her own.
