Wild Thing

Nothing like a nice cold beer after a long, hot day! So everyone will agree that Delcia is a wild thing! She has acquired nick names like, "Wrestle me Elmo" and the "Rodeo Queen." This baby really does not ever stop moving! She even moves in her sleep and insists on sleeping with her legs in the air. She is rolling all over the place and is incredibly active. She loves to be entertained by anyone who will give her the attention. She will occassionally take a 20-40 min. nap only to wake up frantically, hoping that she has not missed anything. She is playing with toys and anything else that she can get a hold of and of course, putting it straight in her mouth. She is eating rice cereal- most of it ends up all over her and anything in close proximity. She is a very happy baby and loves to talk, move, play and her newest- giggle.
She was a little overstimulated at first with her new excersaucer, but now man handles the thing like a pro. Thanks cousin Grady for the hand-me-downs! It does enable me a little bit of a break! As a mom I've quickly realized there are many luxaries that are now things of the past, such as... a hot meal, a meal at all, a daily shower, shaving my legs, painting my toe nails, (anything else I might want to do for myself), and the thing I miss the most- SLEEP!

Happy Mother's Day!

There is no harder job, or more rewarding. We have had so much fun being parents and I am so happy to celebrate my first official Mother's Day. Delcia has been such a joy and we continue to learn and experiment as parents. Our favorite time is all laying in bed together in the mornings. We bring Delcia into our bed at around 6am. She loves touching John's face, talking and smiling at us, then she and I fall back asleep for a few more hours. These mornings make a long night well worth it. I now realize what an amazing thing being a mom is and how much love we are capable of. I have been so lucky to have a mother that has demonstrated this unconditional, motherly love my whole life. I am also lucky to have a mother-in-law that has raised my amazing husband, but also loves and cares for me and her grandaughter as well. Happy Mother's Day to all of those moms I know and admire!

Bridger's test results came back. We have decided not to amputate his leg, but are starting chemo this week. So far he is doing great, but growing ever fearful of his bi-weekly vet visits. He shakes uncontrollably when we get there and has to sit on my lap in the waiting room. All the receptionists there know us well and love to play with Delcia while we wait for Bridger's bandage change. Hopefully the chemo treatments will go well and we will have a happy, healthy dog for a little while longer!

Bridger loves belly rubs, even from a four month old!

Congratulations John!

John graduated Friday with an MBA from the University of Utah. It has been a long year and a half and John has worked very hard. Working full time, going to class at night, having a baby and dealing with me couldn't have been easy! John has the amazing ability of accomplishing a lot with a great attitude. We are so proud of him and glad to finally have him around more.
Unfortunately we were having some technical difficulties with the camera at the actual graduation, so I didn't get any pictures of him in his cap and gown. But don't worry, my mom did and we will get them from her soon. I was able to get some good footage with our new video camera. Delcia did not like the big crowd and all the cheering! So it made for an interesting evening. Luckily my parents were there to help out and help in congratulating John. We went to a nice dinner afterward with a quiet, sleeping baby.
Sat. night we celebrated with friends at a small get together at our house. We broke out the hooka for the first time this season. It was fun to enjoy the nicer weather around the fire and some good company.
